Stay Tuned

I may be switching Blog sites.  WordPress isn’t allowing me to do somethings and has been giving me errors when I want to upload pictures.  I am experimenting with Blogspot.  Stay tuned for my blog’s new address if I decide to move it.

First Boo Boo

Today Brooklynn was playing on her back and pulled one of her bigger hard plastic toys to her face and….. BANG!  She knocked her head! It sounded bad so I went to pick her up thinking maybe it wasn’t that bad and then came the open mouth silent cry followed by the scream and tears.  I almost started to cry.  She cried for a good minute and then wanted to be put down to go play again.  Yes – it fazed me more than her.  Then her eyebrow got red and a tiny bump started to form.  I know, I know this is only the start of Boo- Boo’s and Owies to come. Her Boo Boo picture is on Flickr.

New Bath

Brooklynn has moved to the bath tub!  She loves it and we don’t get as soaked.  Thank you Grandma Joyce for the Duck Bath! It is great.  I had never seen one of these.  It even Quacks!

7 Months…already?

I can not believe it.  Brooklynn is 7 months today! Wow!  I am really enjoying her and trying to take in and remember every second since it is going so FAST!  She is a lot of fun now.  She interacts and knows what is going on, but with that also brings her new found attitude.  She definitely lets you know if she is not happy or if something is not going her way.  That is ok though, she is going to be a spit-fire like her Mom!

Laughing Brooklynn

This may remind you of that one commercial that is on T.V.  Brooklynn was laughing so hard when Nick was pretending to hiccup – he was trying to get rid of her hiccups.  It worked and we got a precious video.

Wiggle Worm

I believe Brooklynn got bit by the wiggle worm bug.  She is definitely not happy just sitting in one spot.  When she sits on your lap she scoots her butt forward and puts her arms straight up in the air, trying to wiggle her way off of your lap and to who knows where.  She is starting to figure out that if she wants to get somewhere she just keeps on rolling from her tummy to her back and then from her back to her tummy to one side.  She also is starting to scoot forward a little bit while on her tummy.  I know my days are numbered before my little wiggle worm figures out how to completely crawl. Today I had her in the living room on her blanket.  I went to the kitchen to make my lunch.  I heard Casper getting excited and running around.  I walked to the front room to see what he was doing and Brooklynn had gotten herself off the blanket and on to the carpet.  She moved probably 2 feet.  I watched her to see if I could see how she got there and of course she didn’t do anything, by that time she was too intrigued with the crazy dog.

Too Much Fun in the Water

I had to post video of our water bug baby!  She loves splashing like crazy!  It doesn’t even faze her when it gets in her eyes or mouth.  She has really become the splasher – Nick and I are soaked after bath time now. Get your water goggles on!

I am so glad Nick can relax and take care of Brooklynn on his day off.  He even put the dog to sleep!

Splish Splash

dsc_0107.jpg

Favorite time for Brooklynn is BATH-TIME!  I think she is starting to understand the word bath.  If you say it her face lights up.  If she is a little fussy all we need to do is get her in the bath and she is one HAPPY baby.   She loves when we get her all undressed and do the naked baby dance down the hall to the bath.  She laughs so hard.  She has now figured out splashing and we may need to move her bath to the tub. (we are still giving her a bath over the kitchen sink; easier on our backs!)  Her splashing is very enthusiastic now.  It isn’t just the little light pat on the water, now it is the huge SPLASH.  She manged to soak my blind over the sink window, the floor – soaked needed to be mopped, the cupboard’s, the rug in front the the sink soaked and us – soaked!  I was laughing so hard.  I have video I will have to upload it.

The Bigger Picture

"Fifty years from now it will not matter what kind of car you drove, what kind of house you lived in, how much you had in the bank account, or what your clothes looked like. But the world may be a little brighter becasue you were important in the life of a child." -Anonymous
