Da Da, Ba ba ba

She is starting to babble well.  She is now saying Da-da-da-da and ba-ba-ba-ba!  Nick is ecstatic that she said Da-Da!  She is too cute when she says it too with her tongue sticking out.

Apples & Bananas

Brooklynn likes to eat, eat, eat, Apples and Bananas! (this is the theme song during food time)  She loves her fruit!  Thank goodness.  Now I can hide her veggies and oatmeal in her apples or bananas and down the hatch it goes.  She likes apples, bananas, and sweet potatoes.  She doesn’t like oatmeal and sweet peas.  We introduce carrots tomorrow, I predict she will like them. (wishful thinking) Why is it when you feed a baby you also open and close your mouth as if you were eating?  Or make crazy noises and give a tremendous amount of cheer when they do eat?  I guess, because right now it is an accomplishment, I just hope there isn’t a hidden camera in my kitchen!

6 Month Photo Shoot

I have been trying for the last 2 days to do Brooklynn’s pictures.  Yesterday’s turned out cute – then I uploaded them and seen that there is a huge shadow behind her in every photo. Argh!  So photo shoot 2 today – too dark with out the flash and the colors looked distorted when I lighten them.  Boo – Hoo!  Poor Brooklynn is going to hate our photo shoots pretty soon!

Sneeze…Sniffle..Sniffle

Poor Brooklynn is congested and has clear mucus leaking from her nose. She seems pretty happy just a little fussy and tired.  I don’t know if she has a cold or if she is teething.

She went to the doctor last Friday.  She is now 26 inches long and 15lbs 5 ounces.  Nick and I both thought she was going to be 16lbs.  She was such a trooper for her shots!

Organization is key to Sanity!

After Christmas our home has been introduced to the tons and tons of toys which Brooklynn loves and was so lucky to get! Which we currently don’t have a place for. Therefore my tree is still up and they are under it!  Yikes!  So I ordered Brooklynn a Disney princess toy bin organizer. Click here  I can’t wait to get it.  It had to be ordered and is being shipped to my local wal-mart for free.  I was not going to pay $15 for shipping. I can not wait until it arrives and I can organize and have a home for her toys!  Can anyone guess how her “big girl” room will be decorated? ………  Yep, Disney Princess!  Since we didn’t know she was a girl she has a neutral nursery which means I can not wait to go girl crazy with her room! Oh the ideas, oh the pink & purple! I won’t be able to help myself.

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho to the Basement we go!

Brooklynn and I were in the basement two times today!  Crazy weather here in Racine.  We were very lucky no damage thus far.  Those were some crazy storms.  Good thing they had the tornado sirens going off, it made me turn on the TV to see what was going on. I know what some of you may be thinking your home all day and the TV wasn’t on? No, my TV wasn’t on and it isn’t most days, unless I am nursing Brooklynn.  I was working and Brooklynn was playing in her saucer.  Well crazy day!  Threw off my schedule and Brooklynn’s nap schedule.  Well after two tornado warnings, Brooklynn only taking one 35 minute nap all day and her being up from 1am- to almost 4 this morning – I would love to drink a bottle of wine! I will raise my bottle to hoping for cold weather to get rid of these tornado/thunderstorms!

Tinkering with Photography

Super excited!  Wait until you see the new pictures I will be taking!  Yes – in addition to my hobbies of this blog, scrap-booking & working out I will be adding photography!  I have always taken pictures and have loved photos since I was little.  I have decided to take all of Brooklynn’s photos and not take her to the mall anymore.  I am tinkering more with photoshop, I can’t wait!

Happy, Happy New Year!

Welcome 2008 – I hope it is GREAT for everyone.  I hate to say it but I am a little glad that all the celebrations are over.  Don’t get me wrong I loved seeing and spending time with family; however, my stomach can’t take anymore of the junk food!  It will also be nice to get Brooklynn back on her nap schedule, if we aren’t home her few naps are really short.  She is actually still sleeping now at 9am.  Poor baby!

Cliche as it may be, Nick and I are ready to kick our fat booties into shape!  We have started a Biggest Family Loser competition with my family.  I am very excited to get rid of my extra weight and get healthy again!  So look out 2008 we are going to be knock outs!
