Holiday Craze
The Holiday Craze is almost over. All that is left is today – my Birthday, and New Year’s Eve. We had such a wonderful Christmas with all of our family. Brooklynn enjoyed watching everyone open their gifts and opened some of her gifts too! I will post pictures from Christmas to flickr. Brooklynn did so well with our hectic holiday schedule. She really is a good baby. (As long as she gets her naps in) Now it is time to de-decorate the house, which I will attempt after the New Year. I hope everyone had a great Christmas with their family and friends and will have a safe and Happy New Year!

Holy Crap!
Yes CRAP! Crap up to Brooklynn’s armpits. YUCK! I have never seen such a mess yet! It was straight to the bath. This cereal really makes for some big stinky do-do. And of course it happened right as we were getting ready to leave. I guess good thing it happened before we left. Double Yuck!

I Can Sit!
Yes indeed, Miss Brooklynn is able to sit all on her own. She does really well and impresses Nick and I. She even is learning how to catch her balance if she starts to lean. I still sit right by her to catch her when she gets tired or decides she wants a toy out of her reach. I can not believe how big she is getting.

Are Your Parents Home?
How could I forget. Last week in the afternoon there was a knock at the door. I was working and figured it was UPS or something so I ignored it. “Knock!” “Knock!” again, so I answered the front door. It was a young lady 19 “selling” a free 1 room carpet cleaning. ( Ha! I only have 1 room with carpet) So she asks if my mom or dad is home! Ha! Ha! I said no, this is my house. Oh! she says apologizing. She thought I was 18 or 19 years old! Too funny! I even had my make up on! Well, if I can continue to look 6 to 7 years younger than my age, I will be very happy. It turned out to be a Kirby sales pitch and I learned from my best friend Renee not to let those people in! So no free carpet cleaning, I will do it myself to spare me a long 3 hour sales pitch on the kirby. I am a dyson girl anyway!

Here comes Santa Claus
We took Brooklynn last week Friday to the mall to have her very first meeting with Santa. She did so well! She was mesmerized by his beard and his furry suit. She kept rubbing the fur on his suit and trying to touch his beard. Thank goodness we have been working on “nice”, so that she didn’t grab a hold of his beard! It was hard to get her to stop looking at Santa and look at the camera for the picture. It turned out cute.
After Santa we decided to do our Christmas shopping. We ended up losing her Christmas shoe, but was lucky enough to find it at Bath and Body Works. She also managed to have an explosion poop in Gap and got it all over her Christmas dress and stroller! Ack! Well all I can say is next year picture with Santa will not be in her Christmas outfit and thank goodness for oxy-clean!

Cereal… Yum?
1 week on cereal and Miss Brooklynn doesn’t think it is as fun anymore. The first time we gave it to her and she loved it and gobbled it right up. Now the last few days after 2 – 3 spoonfuls she has had it and lets us know it. I have even tried giving her cereal before nursing her and same story. She would rather nurse. Well one more week of it once a day and then I will add it into her morning as well. Maybe she will show more interest this week. (Hopeful!)

Our Very Own Photo Shoot
I got very creative today and designed my own photo studio right in my front room. I am so excited how the pictures turned out. Plus with my Adobe photo shop program I am able to do some neat effects. Brooklynn was so happy and laughing almost the entire time. She loved being in her diaper. Once I put on her Christmas dress all she wanted to do was eat it. So needless to say I didn’t get any good pics of her with her dress on. Oh well I can not complain, I got some awesome pictures to choose from for our Christmas card and have some neat pics for her 5th month. I uploded the pictures to Flickr.

Jumping! Jumping!
Jump! Jump! Is the new song we sing to Brooklynn at our house. Last month Nick put together her Jumperoo and she loves it. She now is really jumping pretty high and sings her little “AHHHH” song as she plays with her toys on it. She “sings” so loud Nick and I can not hear anything else. She is too funny! I took video of her jumping and signing. It is a bit long, sorry when I was recording I just couldn’t stop she was singing so well.
The BIG news yesterday was that Brooklynn rolled over from her back to her tummy. I had her on the play mat in my office while I was working and I looked over at her and she was on her tummy! I was so excited! She has been able to roll from her tummy to her back for a month now – so this I was anticipating. I put her back on her back and she kept doing it. Now it is only a matter of time before she figures out how to start actually getting around – then I am in trouble!
I am very excited because we are going to take Brooklynn to get her picture with Santa today! I can not wait! Christmas is my favorite time of year and I am elated to be able to introduce Brooklynn to it! We are also going to go get her rice cereal and start today. I am excited but sad at the same time. Her starting foods means she isn’t such a “baby” anymore and I can not believe how fast it is going! I think she is totally ready for cereal. She watches everything you put in your mouth and opens her mouth as if hoping some would fall in! She grabs at food, plates, glasses and cans of soda. She is starting to wake up at 6:30 am to eat when she used to wake up at 8am. We put her to bed pretty late around 10:30 – 11pm, so she must need a little bit more in her belly than breast-milk. That is our exciting world for now. I will have to post how the cereal goes and the picture with Santa. I uploaded new pictures to Flickr.

Where does the time go?
So where did these 10 days go since my last post? No clue! Wow! So anyway, some exciting things have happened in the last 10 days.
Brooklynn went for her 4 month check up. She is 14 lbs 2 oz. and 25 inches long. She is growing very well. She is in the 75th percentile for height and between 25th & 50th percentile for weight. She was intrigued by the doctor this time, trying to grab his stethoscope and squirm her way off the exam table. The shots were bad. She cried extra hard and extra long afterward this time. I think it was a mad cry – like why did you do that to me. That is heart breaking! My husband hides in the corner of the room and makes me hold her down by myself. Thank goodness we split them up. The doctor told us that we can start her on cereal when we want. He would like her to start fruits and veggies by 6 months and according to him she should start cereal before that. So he left it up to us when to start her on cereal. I have been doing my research and I think we are going to wait at least another month to start cereal. She is sleeping through the night and isn’t hungry all the time. I would rather wait longer to help prevent food allergies. I can’t believe she is getting ready to start foods! When people tell you to enjoy every second because it goes so fast – they weren’t kidding! What is this once you enter parenthood you are also put in some sort of time warp – where time (excuse the cliché) flies by?
Another exciting event was we went shopping! Yes, it was exciting. We went shopping with my mom and my grandmother. My grandmother bought Brooklynn her Christmas outfit. Too Cute – from Gymboree! I can not wait for her to wear it. She got a dress, with a matching sweater, matching shoes and matching tights. OMG! Now the goal will be for her to be able to wear it all day with no spit up or explosions from down below. I will think positive! Brooklynn also got an outfit from my mom. She is way too spoiled! Thank you Mom and Nana!
